Google is today celebrating the 107th anniversary of Winsor McCay?s Little Nemo in Slumberland. The elaborate doodle marks the comic strip?s first publication in the New York Herald as Little Nemo in Slumberland and later in New York American as the Land of Wonderful Dreams.
The doodle starts with little boy, Nemo, dreaming about falling from his bed and how he gets rescued by Princess Camille. In the sequence, Nemo goes through panels that spell out Google. Like in the original comic strip, Nemo falls from his bed in the last panel.
Of late Google has been making some really interactive and exhaustive doodles unlike earlier when it used to just have a special logo to mark important festivals, people and historic events.
