Often you?ll hear people complain that there aren?t enough restaurants in the Heights. ?That seems to be improving over the past few years but one of the gems that?s been located there for a long time is ?Off Main Street Deli? located at 669 Main Street. Like many deli?s and cafe?s they are only open for breakfast and lunch. ?Hours are 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday and 11am to 3pm on Saturdays.
I always order the Extreme Chicken Salad Sandwich which has sunflower seeds, bacon, and lettuce with the chicken salad. ?The crunchiness of the celery along with the seeds and bacon make this sandwich truly delicious and ?extreme.? ?As you can see by the photo, a half sandwich would be plenty for anyone (they have 1/2 option or whole available), but I can never pass up the other half! ?The last time that I was there, I got lucky and my peanut butter cookie came right from the oven and it was oh so good. ?You can get a sandwich, chips, cookie and soda for $10 and it is definitely worth the price.

I?ve also had their potato soup and it was also delicious. ?They?ve got plenty of tasty sounding items on their menu, which you can find on their Facebook Page. ?Their baked goods including cookies, brownies, pumpkin bars (perfect for this time of year) are always enticing as well. Next time I go, I?m going to make myself try something new. ?I?d definitely like to get in there sometime to try their breakfast too.
The only helpful suggestion that I could offer for Off Main Street Deli would be a larger sign but with how busy they are every time I?ve been there for lunch, it doesn?t look like their loyal customers are having any trouble finding them!
